About the course

You will be introduced to a range of artists, who focus on drawing whilst also including mixed media and paint to create exciting art. The course will encourage you to experiment with lots of different materials whilst keeping a focus on improving your drawing and painting skills. For example, we will look at using more traditional drawing media (graphite, pencils, charcoal, pastels) on different supports, such as textured paper and painted backgrounds to develop the key skills of mark-making, line, texture, form and value. The aim is to really enjoy being creative. With step-by-step instructions and suggestions, you will be shown how these combined techniques can be used to develop atmospheric drawings and paintings.

How the course will be delivered

Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, examples, discussions and regular support and encouragement.
