About the course

You will learn how to paint still life, landscapes, florals, portraits, and animals in acrylic, in a vibrant, contemporary style. You’ll find inspiration from artists such as Mary Fedden, David Hockney, Elaine Pamphilon etc You will discover your own style along the way whilst learning about colour mixing, paint application, and composition.

How the course will be delivered

The course will be delivered face to face in a small group setting, with a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

What you'll need to bring

You will need a selection of 120ml acrylic paints in the following colours. Titanium white, Payne’s Grey, Burnt umber, Phthalo blue, Cerulean blue, Ultramarine blue, Cadmium red, Cadmium yellow. A selection of brushes, cartridge paper, a mixing palette and a water pot. Good budget ranges of materials can be bought from local outlets.

Entry requirements

Some drawing and painting skills are desirable but not essential. An ability to experiment is important, and to enjoy the process of painting as much as the final outcome.
