About the course:

Discover how colour and light shape the way we experience art in this course on art appreciation. Deepen your understanding of how artists use colour theory, contrast, shading, and illumination to evoke emotion, and create movement. Through guided discussions and visual analysis, you'll explore masterpieces from various periods and styles, uncovering the techniques artists have used to manipulate light and colour to create stunning effects. Each session offers a fresh perspective on how light transforms artistic expression. No knowledge of art history needed!

How will the course be delivered?

This course will be delivered face to face by our amazing Art tutor Amy. There will be a mixture of tutor demonstration, discussion and hands-on creative activities to help you develop your skills and confidence.

What do I need to bring?

No equipment is required, but you may want to bring a notebook and pen to take notes if you’d like.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course, just a passion for art and a willingness to have a go.
