About the course:

Discover the powerful role art plays in shaping social change in this thought-provoking course on art appreciation. Explore how artists throughout history have used their creativity to protest injustice, challenge societal norms, and spark dialogue about pressing social issues. Through engaging discussions and visual analysis, you'll examine works of art that critique systems of power, advocate for human rights, and give voice to marginalised communities. From bold street art to politically charged paintings, each session reveals the ways art has been used as a tool for resistance and commentary. This course invites you to consider the impact of art beyond aesthetics and delve into the stories, messages, and movements behind these works.
