About the course
If you are considering starting your own business this 20 hour course is an ideal introduction to some of areas you will need to consider covering: employment responsibilities and rights; the skills and requirements required when running a business; enterprise; and customer service. There will be a short multiple choice test at the end of the course which you must pass in order to achieve the qualification.
How the course will be delivered
The course will be delivered by one of our specialist employability tutors. Activities will often include discussions, group and pair work, written work, Q&A and worksheets. Your tutor will ensure that the lessons are engaging, interactive and supportive
What you'll need to bring
You need to bring a pen, notebook and any other items guided by your tutor. If your course is in our online classroom (Zoom) you will need a computer, smart phone or tablet and a good internet connection.
Entry requirements
As this is a level 1 course you should have an English qualification at entry level 3 or above. This could be a GCSE or an equivalent such as a functional skills qualification. You will also need to undertake an initial assessment to determine if this is the right level for you.
Next steps
On completion of this course you can progress to a range of other courses and workshops including L1 Award in Health and Safety or L2 Award in Customer Service. You may also choose to progress to an English, maths or IT course.
