About the course
The Entry Level 3 Award in Health and Care is a perfect introduction to the sector. You will complete two units looking at some of the basic knowledge that underpins many different job roles. This course will also help you prepare for the world of work, understand values and attitudes relevant to employment, develop skills needed to find, gain and be successful in employment in the care sector. Assessment will be through an portfolio of evidence which demonstrates your knowledge and understanding as the course progresses.
How the course will be delivered
The course will be delivered by an experienced tutor who has an extended experience of the sector and will be able to give you real life experiences of the care sector. Lessons will be taught either face to face in one of our learning centres or online via Zoom. Activities will often include discussions, group and pair work, written work, Q&A and worksheets. Your tutor will ensure that the lessons are engaging, interactive and supportive.
What you'll need to bring
You need to bring an pen, notebook and any other items guided by your tutor. If your course is in our online classroom (Zoom) you will need an computer, smart phone or tablet and an good internet connection.
Entry requirements
As this is an entry level 3 course you should have an English qualification at entry level 2 or above. This could be a GCSE or a equivalent such as a functional skills qualification. You will also need to undertake an initial assessment to determine if this is the right level for you. You do not need any experience of working in the adult social care sector.
Next steps
On completion of this course you can progress in employment or to many other Employability courses and workshops including courses on searching and applying for work and interview/presentation skills. You may also choose to progress to English, Maths or IT courses.
