About the course:
This short qualification course is designed to give you the knowledge and understanding of the principles of keeping food safe. The qualification introduces you to key issues in food safety: taking responsibility for your own food safety and hygiene; keeping work areas clean, and keeping food safe.How will the course be delivered?
This course will be delivered by one of our specialist employability tutors.
What do I need to bring?
You need to bring an pen, notebook and any other items guided by your tutor.
What are the entry requirements?
You must be interested in entering, already working in, or volunteering in a role in catering or a related field. Depending on prior knowledge you may need to complete 'An Introduction to Food Safety' before starting this course.
What can I do next?
You can progress into volunteering / employment / self-employment in the hospitality and catering sector or a related field or consider further learning at college.
How well am I doing?
Your tutor will provide you with regular verbal and written feedback in lessons and in your Individual Progress Record (IPR). Final Assessment is by an online multiple choice test.
