About the course

This qualification is aimed at a range of learners, including those who have had little interaction or no experience of using word processing applications to create and format documents. The aims of the qualification are to enable learners to access word processing applications, enter text onto a document, apply simple formatting to text, to save, share and print documents

How the course will be delivered

You will work directly with your tutor as part of a small group covering the course aims. Your tutor will feed back to you throughout each session on your progress.

What you'll need to bring

You might find a pen and notebook handy to take notes and if you wear glasses don't forget to bring those too. As this is a portfolio based course, we will provide a folder and USB but please feel free to bring your own memory stick (USB/flash drive) to save your work to.

Entry requirements

This course is designed for students who have never used a PC or last used one a very long time ago. It is for those who have very basic skills and would like to gain confidence and an understanding of computer terms, skills and knowledge.

On successful completion of this course you can move on to the other Pre Entry Awards, or progress onto a Nationally Accredited Qualification such as the new Essential Digital Skills Qualification or many of our other Digital Skills courses and workshops
