Arts and Crafts
Our classes will give you the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques in your area of interest, whilst pushing you to explore your creativity and develop your own individual style. Our courses will give you the knowledge necessary to create something amazing. From drawing, painting, upholstery, needlecraft, jewellery making to cookery.
We offer classes at different levels and can support you whether you are a novice who would like to learn the basics or someone who needs to refresh themselves with more advanced techniques. We have courses to suit all needs and abilities.
View our curriculum plan below to take a look at the progression pathways within the Arts and Craft curriculum. If you are unable to read this document and require further information, please don't hesitate to contact your local Adult Learning Centre who will be happy to discuss through it.
26-27 Arts and Wellbeing Curriculum Plan
You will be aware that local authorities are facing significant financial challenges at the moment and our Adult Skills Fund allocation for Tailored Learning has also been reduced by central Government. To reflect this, we have changed our fee structure for Arts and Crafts and Languages courses and workshops.
For the 2026 to 2027 academic year and onwards, Beginners Arts and Crafts and Languages courses and workshops will be charged at a rate of £7.50 per hour. (£3.75 for learners who are eligible for a funding concession as per our policy - available on this website.)
We plan that learners will spend a year on Beginners level courses in order to acquire basic skills and techniques to progress into further study.
Improvers, Intermediate and Advanced Arts and Crafts and Languages courses and workshops will be charged at a rate of £9.50 per learner per hour and we are not able to offer any concessions to this fee rate.
We appreciate that this may be disappointing. However, our aim is to ensure that support is available where it is needed most and ensure our service remains sustainable in the long term.
